Plastic bags are great for storing food in the fridge or freezer.
But unless you have the time (and the bags) to transfereverything into Ziplocs, chances are you’ve found yourself doing the old twist-and-shove: You simply twist up the bag and cram it in. If you’re lucky, you might have a twisty-tie or rubber band on hand.
But in case you don’t, or you find yourself with nothing but a pile of dried-out, brittle rubber bands, here’s a neat trick and one that can be used over and over again! And all you need is an old water bottle and some scissors.
Now in a pinch, you still can keep your food fresh! And the bottle cap opening allows for easy access, too, so you don’t have to fight with bands, ties, or knotted bags.
And when you’re done with whatever’s in the bag, keep the bottle top around so you can use it again! It’s not only a great way to keep your pantry organized, but bug-free too as they won’t be able to wiggle into any open baggies.
