For some couples getting married nowadays, engagement and wedding photo shoots mean everything to officially celebration the union as a pair. People plan out every outfit, location and pose for their “I Do”shoots and hire top photographers to capture the memories on their big day. Its pretty much part of the modern wedding.
But if going by todays standards that require professionalphoto shoots, this couple had to wait 70 years for their big day.
Ferris and Margaret Romaire of Louisiana were in love, but sadly were separated by a war. After Ferris finally returned home from serving in World War II, the high school sweethearts decided to get married.
They tied the knot in 1946 at Margarets parents home in a simple 15-minute ceremony. However, they didnt have a camera to make a memory of their special day.

For their 70th wedding anniversary, their granddaughter thought they deserved a special portrait to celebrate their love.
So Amanda Kleckley reached out to photographer Lara Carter to shoot wedding photos for her still in love grandparents.
Ferris, 90, wore a tuxedo and Margaret, 89, donned a bridal gown including a veil.
Included in the shoot were old photographs of the pair when they were young.
The couple has four children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
