Theresa May’s audience with Donald Trump at the White House was widely seen a rekindling of the special relationship between U.S. and UK.

But a British street artist offered another, more cheeky interpretation.

In a street artwork on Great Eastern street, London, Pegasus painted May laughing while she spanks the U.S. president, who is submissively placed across her legs.

“It’s hard to avoid what’s happening across the pond at the moment,” the 32-year-old artist said.

“During Theresa May’s visit to Washington, I along with millions of others were hoping she would pull Trump up on some of his divisive policies but in actual fact she came across as submissive.”

Pegasus said he had received mixed response to his piece.

“The piece was well received as I was painting, many laughed and photographed,” he said. “One American Trump-supporting tourist used these words against me: ‘You are disgusting’.”

It’s not the first piece of art directed at Trump-May.

Veronica Dearly, a British illustrator, penned a powerful drawing to convey her thoughts about May and Trump holding hands in Washington.

In December last year, Pegasus painted a tribute to music legend George Michael.
