Sarah and Rebecca Duncan are identical twin sisters from Grapevine, Texas. They describe their dad Scott as a “superhero” who did everything in his power to give them and their brother a happy and joyful childhood. From coaching their athletic teams to showing up at their PTA meetings, Scott was every bit the doting father.
But in 2012, everything changed. Scott was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. As his condition quickly progressed, his memories began to fade away.
After high school, Sarah and Rebecca decided to put their college dreams on hold and become Scott’s full-time caregivers. For two years, they worked together to take care of their ailing dad while their mom worked to bring in income as an art teacher.
In the summer of 2016, when Scott turned 80, he was slated to move into a care facility near the family home. Sarah and Rebecca wanted to do something truly special.
Watch the video below to see the incredible gift they gave to Scott, and vice versa, despite the fact they were both single at the time.
